Statement of Faith

"The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached..." Luke 16:16

From the outset of His ministry Jesus proclaimed the Good News of the Kingdom of Heaven.  This was His primary message until He set His face toward Jerusalem.  From this point on He was no longer talking about it, He was preparing to open the way to the Kingdom, which He did by His death on the cross.

The message has not changed in 2,000 years, it's still about the Good News of the Kingdom of Heaven:

From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 4:17

There is only one Kingdom, one King of Kings.  The Church of Jesus Christ today appears to be fragmented and divided by doctrine and denominational boundaries.  This was not the intention of He who is the 'Cornerstone' (Luke 20:17) of this Kingdom, the Head of this Body (Ephesians 4:15).

We believe in the unity of the Church and we will work for this unity with all who recognise the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour and King.  We believe that this Kingdom is open and freely available to all, regardless of ethnicity or culture.  We believe in a Church where all are equal, as brothers and sisters in one worldwide family, with no hierarchy save that of our King, and Him alone.

We are not members of any one denomination so that we may serve all equally.  We are currently serving a number of fellowships and ministries in our own city, Sheffield, as well as serving others overseas, particularly in Africa, where we have strong links with Nigeria and Cameroon.

We work for the establishment of the Kingdom of Heaven here on Earth: in our own city, in our nation, and in other nations, as we are led.  We go only where we are invited, and work with the Body of Christ in that place to see the Kingdom come.
